Learn the spiritual books and the history of great people to improve the quality of our words.(c)Mind: Mind is nothing but flow of thoughts. Develop thoughts generating love, kindness, compassion, gentleness, friendliness, courage, concentration, calmness. This is possible by removing bad thoughts stored in the sub-conscious mind and filling it with good thoughts. (Quote-verse 3 in”Sivaprasada Panchakam”).Right from the birth, knowingly or unknowingly, Consciously or unconsciously, we gather and store bad thoughts in the subconscious mind and it is providing data base to our thought process. The quality of the data bank has to be improved to get better results. Daily prayers with awareness and meditation may help us in controlling mind and directing it to search within.(d)Senses: Eyes, Nose, Tongue, Ears and Skin are the sense organs. We know the outside world with the help of these sense organs. All these are desirous of enjoyments all the time. These are always in search of one object or the other to play with. These don’t know their limits. These may therefore take us anywhere they like to end up in sorrow.. Therefore avoid pampering the senses or avoid using them excessively. Exercise control.(e)House: Allow the sun rays and the fresh air to enter the house. Remove unwanted and filthy things from the house. Clean the house daily. Keep the urinals and toilet clean. Keep surroundings of the house also clean. Use agarbatties or smoke some pleasant or aromatic smelling substances to provide divine presence. Those who follow Pancha Shuddhi will become healthy and live long happily. Let us pray Gurudev to provide us the courage to follow Pancha Shuddhi to make us healthy, wealthy and happy.2.Pancha DharmamThe Five Dharmas to be observed are Ahimsa, Satyam(Truth), Astheyam, Avyabhicharam, Maddya Varjanam(Prohibition).(a)Ahimsa: Not troubling the body, life or mind of other living beings by our thoughts, words or actions is called as Ahimsa. If we practice Ahimsa, other living beings, whether they are cruel or otherwise, will trust us like a child is trusting the mother.(b)Satyam (Truth): Truth is permanent. Truth is the real God. The entire world is existing on the foundation of truth. We should therefore tell truth. We should not tell lie. Telling lie is against the God. Person telling truth alone will bring results as per his words. Truth always win.(c)Astheyam: Not stealing the property of others is Astheyam. Or it is a state of having no interest in the property of others. If we are not stealing others God will provide us with all prosperity. Theft spoils our reputation. A person who is always free by thought, words or actions from theft will be trusted by the people and they will surrender everything they have before him.(d)Avyabhicharam: Looking upon any woman or man with a lustful eye or passion, making suggestive talks with them with motives, indulging in illegal relationships etc:- are to be avoided. This will lead us to the untimely loss of prestige, position, respect, reputation, wealth, knowledge, Custom, family and life itself. Therefore those who want to have happy life in this world or in heaven should avoid such activities.(e)Maddya Varjanam(Prohibition) : The substances like alcohol, Narcotics, tobacco etc:- causing harm to our intellect or thinking power should not be taken. Those who take these substances regularly get addicted to these items. They are hated by their own wife, father, mother, brothers, sisters, children and even God. Therefore never indulge in drugs, drinking, smoking, or tobacco chewing.(3) Pancha MahayajnamBrahma yajnam, Pitru yajnam, Daiva yajnam, Bhoota yajnam, and Manushya yajnam.(a)Brahma Yajnam: Learning Spiritual texts like Vedas, Upanishads, Bible, Quran etc. and teaching it to others. The knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads are known to be the ultimate or supreme. Gurudevan has revealed these knowledge in simple language through his books. Knowledge is power. Knowledge only liberate us to give satisfaction and happiness. Therefore be a student throughout the life.(b)Pitru yajnam: Have respect to parents, teachers and elders. Show gratitude to whatever they have done to us. Look after them in whatever way possible. Remember the good things done by them and felicitate them.(c)Daiva Yajnam: Offer prayers to God. God in a temple is symbolic. We have attributed certain qualities and powers in them. Try to imbibe the qualities attributed to the God we are worshiping and live accordingly. This will provide us necessary courage to face the challenges in life.(d)Bhoota yajnam: Love the birds and animals. Give them food. Love the environment. Love the plants. We should understand that the wealth of this universe is to be enjoyed by all the creatures in this world with equal right.(e) Manushya Yajnam: guests, destitutes, sufferers, servants etc:- should be loved and protected. They should be helped to meet their needs. We are part of the cosmic world. Cosmic world is full of cosmic energy, spiritual energy. It is full of love, compassion, kindness, concern. It always give. It also give material things like air, water, food etc:- The very nature of the cosmose is Sachidanandam. We are not able to enjoy the bliss or sachidanandam because we identify our body to the real self instead of realizing the true nature. Our body is ever changing. It is not permanent. But the real self is not changing. It is permanent. When we remain separated from the cosmic whole, our activities are taking place at the command of our Chittam. Chittam is the store house of our memories of the past, hereditary contributions and day today experiences. Whenever any situation appears before us mind pass on the message to the chittam and it immediately react by relating the situation to the message already storred. This reaction become good or bad depending upon the quality of the data stored. If we are not emotionally rich we will have no positive energy like love, compassion, kindness to give to others. When we are emotionally poor we will be drawing negative energy from the cosmos and passing on to others. This naturally give back negative energy to be paid back to the cosmos. If we could cleance the chitta, purify chitta by way of sadhana(Spiritual practice) and become aware of our true nature the chitta take the back seat. If chitta is impure the grace received from the universe will also become impure. “Kalla vithodu nalla vithu chernal nalla vithum kalla vithakum”. So always try to separate chitta from the real self. “Asangoham, asangoham; asangoham puna: puna: . Yogaschitta vrutti nirodhaha”.“They will dwell in harmony, courteous, without quarrelling, like milk mixed with water, looking upon one another with the eye of love and affection”“Seeing danger in dispute, Security in concord,Dwell together in amity. This is the teaching of the Buddhas”.Sree Narayana Mandira Samithi Website
