DAIVADASAKAM English Meaning]

 

Verse-1
O God, as ever from there, take good care of us here,
Don’t let us slip out of your hands.
You are the great captain, your feet the steamship to save us,
Who struggle in the mighty ocean of life.

Verse-2
Counting all the countable one after another,
When all things touched are done with.
Then the seeing eye remains,
So the inner self in you attain rest.

Verse-3
Food clothes and all we need,
You give to us unceasingly.
Ever saving us, seeing us well provided,
Such a one, you alone are our sole master.

Verse-4
As ocean, wave, wind and depth,
Are ourselves, maya (illusion), your glory and you.
Let me inwardly have,
Such an awareness of this scheme.

Verse-5
God, you are the creation, creator,
And the created objects all.
Are you not O God,
Even the substance of creation too!

Verse-6
Are you not maya (illusion), the wielder of maya,
And also the rejoicer in maya?
Are you not the true one who,
Having removed maya, grants the supreme union?

Verse-7
You are truth, knowledge and bliss;
You’re the past, present and future.
You are in-fact the word,
We use in your praise, O Lord!

Verse-8
Completely filling both within and without,
Is the state of your grandeur.
We hail you, O Lord,
Victory to you, our God.

Verse-9
Success be yours, O Great Lord Divine,
Ever intent on saving those in misery.
Victory to you, perceptual abode of joy,
O the ocean of mercy, Victory be yours!

Verse-10
In the deep ocean of your Glory,
Let us all become immersed.
There to dwell, dwell forever,
Everlastingly in Happiness!
